Thoughtful.
Engaging. Collaborative.
Your First Visit
The first time we meet we will spend time getting to know each other. I will share with you a little bit about my experience, my therapy approach and my personal style. Ideally, you will also share with me what you are hoping to receive from therapy. We will discuss your current concerns as well as pertinent history.
We will review confidentiality and it’s limits, HIPAA requirements and complete any forms or permissions needed. We will discuss payment and insurance coverage and make a tentative plan for ongoing sessions.
If you are a parent or caregiver seeking therapy for your adolescent, we may meet privately first (without your child) or we may meet as a family unit, depending on preference and situation.

Individual Therapy
You and I work together in my private office or via telehealth to address your mental health needs. This may be a consistent weekly appointment or you may choose to meet as needed.
There are many therapeutic modalities I work within – cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, psychoanalysis, trauma informed work, motivational interviewing, arts and expressive therapies and more.
It is not the modality so much that matters to me but the match between client and clinician, modality and personality. I may be the “expert” in psychology but you are the expert on your life and we need each other to make the counseling process a success.

BioPsychoSocial Assessment
Over a series of three one-hour sessions, I develop a clinical understanding of your presenting concerns, their origins and effects on your various spheres of life, and present therapy recommendations based on this understanding. A preliminary diagnosis, if applicable, as well as treatment recommendations are included in a document that you can retain for your records and use/share as you see fit.

Consultation
Specifically designed for groups, institutions and organizations that desire a greater understanding of social-emotional needs of adolescents and young adults.
Focused more on training and education than intervention, this service can also be used with individual clients who need support in the community, the school setting and the workplace.

Supervision
For post-master’s license eligible clinicians (LMHC), I offer sliding scale supervision for support towards licensure. I am an approved supervisor for the state of Massachusetts.
I continue to offer post-licensure supervision for any practicing clinician should they find it to be of benefit.
